LIZZY HAYES

Producer

Discovering all of the roles and responsibilities that go into running a company and putting on a show is proving to be a massive learning curve and a fun one too. As producer I have a large say in the art that our company produces, though much of my job is administrative. Some of my duties include coordinating each sector of the company so that we function efficiently, working closely with finance, marketing and the director to ensure all aims are achievable, setting goals, booking spaces and gaining performance rights. I am also a member of the company’s cast and will be performing in a number of the company’s shows.

ANDREW TINLEY

Production/Stage Manager/Lighting Designer

I’m in charge of ‘all things technical’ in this company. As daunting as this sounds I am excited to get cracking and discover the possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead for this company and its fragmented, contemporary performance. This devised performance currently lends itself nicely to the aspect of technology and we have some great ideas in store to make this experience visually stimulating for all ages! I will be documenting my process for all you tech and production lovers out there so don’t forget to pop back every so often to keep up to date with our process! (Don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to know any more!)

I am ready and rearing to go (and I hope you are too!) with my technical hat firmly on my head just waiting for the exciting challenges ahead! Enjoy!

STEPHANIE ALCOCK

Director

I am the Director of Hand Me Down Theatre Company, and I aim to help shape our collaboration of innovative ideas into a diverse piece of contemporary theatre. This will be achieved through using a set of devising techniques, including multimedia recordings, improvisation and the exploration of text. As our work focuses on the interpretations of various texts, I aim to create varied perceptions and approaches to the familiar and unfamiliar spoken word through devising. This will result in a unique bricolage form of theatre that explores the many ways one can interpret a piece of text.

LIBBY SOPER

Deputy Stage Manager/Set Designer

My company roles in Hand Me Down Theatre are deputy stage manager and actor. Being the deputy stage manager involves jobs such as designing our set, costume and props and working closely with Andy on the technical aspects of the show to help produce exciting aesthetics for our performance.
Being a part of a collaborative theatre company, I aim to bring exciting and unique ideas into the group to create fresh contemporary work. I am interested in the idea of using live music and sound, created by musical instruments and the voice. I believe I have the skills to ‘put a spin on things’ establishing a contemporary performance that is out of the ordinary.

As well as this I am hoping to organise future PR stunts that will get us an amazing audience for our next production on the 29th May 2014. I hope to see you there!

JESS LAW

Marketing

My role in this theatre company is within the marketing team. This role includes specific jobs and tasks, from designing to creating logos and posters. I also help with the overall advertising of our company ‘Hand Me Down Theatre’.

The advertising of our company is an essential element as we want to receive a wide variation of audience members ranging through all ages. The actual advertising will be taking form in numerous ways from flyering, radio interviews and a high focus on social media, for example Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We will also aim to produce trailers and promotion videos of our performance. We hope to get our company noticed in as many ways as possible. As a fresh new theatre company we hope to attract people’s attention.

KAYLEIGH ANNE BREWSTER

Finance Manager & Actor

Within the company I have two main roles as the financial manager and doubling as an Actor. Financial planning within our company is extremely important and I hope that by continuing research and by having fundraising ideas, should we need them, we’ll stay on top of our budget. As an actor for the company we are looking at different texts and work shopping ideas which I am enjoying. I am looking forward to continuing the process and seeing what sort of performance the company can come up with.

JESS JARVIS

Actor

My main role in Hand Me Down theatre is within the acting team. Due to it being an early process I am playing around with texts from play scripts to songs to speeches etc. We know that workshop is the best form of play! Not only am I part of the acting team I am also part of the creative team. This role allows me to express my creativity and imaginary skills in order to fulfil the right requirements for our contemporary  performance.

JADE FALLON

Actor

My role in Hand Me Down Theatre is part of the acting ensemble. I feel that my experience from performing at Edinburgh Fringe Festivals will enable me to adapt to the prospect of touring our shows. One of my proudest moments within my theatre experience was when I got to tour in a professional production of ‘Cinderella’. I hope to embrace these skills I gained and bring them into our theatre company.

*We all double up as actors within the company
